UPDATE: Witnesses Sought to State Route 169 Injury Accident

Two women were transported to Harborview Medical Center after one vehicle veered across the center line, striking the second vehicle head-on.

Investigators with the Washington State Patrol are asking anyone who may have witnessed an overnight collision on State Route 169 that injured two women to come forward, a news release said Thursday afternoon.

The accident took place at 1:03 a.m. on State Route 169 at S.E. 383rd Street, a State Patrol memo reported this morning.

The 41-year-old driver of a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, listed as being from Seattle, was headed northbound on State Route 169 when she reportedly crossed the center line and hit the second vehicle, a 2010 Chevy Malibu head-on.Β

The driver of the second vehicle is a 64-year-old woman from Black Diamond.

Both women were wearing seat belts but were taken to Harborview Medical Center for their injuries.

The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was placed under arrest for investigation of vehicular assault before she was transported for medical care, according to State Patrol. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision.

She was listed in satisfactory condition as of Thursday morning, said hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg-Hanson.Β The driver of the Chevy Malibu remains in critical condition and in intensive care.
