Two free kid's events coming up soon!

OCTOBER 5th
The fabuous and famous children's entertainer and singer, author of children's books and poems, ERIC ODE!! will be at the Chalet Theater at 9 am for one hour. It's the kick off performance of the day-long Music Fest put on by CAST.  What a fun treat for kids and their moms and dads. I tell you the kids just jump up ad down in their seats when they see Ode; they sing and stomp their feet. Even the parents sing-a-long. The kids' are happy!

This is what is happening:

Children ages 5-12 each are encouraged to write an original story and create a paper book using visual art as inspiration. Before their session begins, Studio 54’s curator takes the children on a quick tour of the art gallery to spark their  imaginations. Then published writers and authors of the Plateau Area Writers Association  guide  the children in groups of 10 during a 50 minute session.  Artists from Arts Alive! Center for the Arts assist children in illustrating their stories and help them create a colorful book cover. Each child has a head shot taken to cut and paste on the back cover of their book, just like professional authors do.                                            (and parents welcome to participate)
