Civic and Religious Leaders Gather for National Day of Prayer

Participants braved chilly rains to gather at Enumclaw City Hall Thursday in commemoration of National Day of Prayer.

Thursday marked the ninth year that the religious community of Enumclaw gathered for National Day of Prayer, the mission of which is described by national organizers as "to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture."

This year, various members of both the civic and religious community came together to pray for the wellbeing of the community. They included:

  • Bruce Thweatt of Enumclaw Community Church
  • Peter Little, Community Presbyterian Church, Buckley
  • Britt Nelson, director of Plateau Outreach Ministries
  • Glori Schneider, chaplain at St. Elizabeth Hospital
  • Gary Hemminger, director of Enumclaw Youth and Family Services
  • Mike Nelson, superintendent in the Enumclaw School District
  • Joe Clow, fire chief of Enumclaw Fire/KCFD #28
  • Fred Davis, Calvary Presbyterian Church

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
