Email to the Editor: YEAS Thanks Community, Fundraising Continues for Next Phase

The volunteer members of Your Enumclaw Area Stadium (YEAS) want to thank this wonderful community for its Great Generosity in helping to bring an all-weather athletic field to Enumclaw!

As we wrap up the books on phase I of the project we reflect upon all who stepped up and did their part to make this a truly community-wide endeavor.

This project is what our community is all about. It was proven through all the donations and volunteer efforts of so many people. Thank you to each and every one of you who donated and gave of your time. It was because of your generosity this project was completed.

Although every donation was valued, we’d like to thank a few people individually. Thank you for the Leadership of John Wise, Cathy Dahlquist and Carl Sanders and the experience of Steve Moergeli, Gary Carlson, Larry Fetter, and Steve McDonald. Thank you for the efforts Lyle Sanders, Neal Sanders, their friends and crew, Kelly Kahne, Robin Kahne, Scott Corliss, Doug, Chris Vanhoof, The Honorable Rick Bathum and sons, Jeff Dahlquist and countless others. Additionally, thank you for the support from donors large and small including Mutual of Enumclaw, the Muckleshoot Tribe, Gamblin, Fugate, Dick Kovacevic, (Commonwealth Club of California), Bill Jensen (Taco Time), Phil and Kerry Bivens and Grants through the NFL grant the Enumclaw School District obtained and the Recreation and Conservation Grant the City of Enumclaw obtained this hallmark of community pride was accomplished.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit the field yet, please stop by on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday and catch a football or soccer game. There are also going to be LaCrosse and Rugby teams out there soon filling up the calendar. It is Your Enumclaw Area Stadium, so thank you for helping to build it.
