Empty Bowls Benefit Raises More than $6,000 to Local Food Banks

The event in March in which participants gathered for a simple meal while taking home a handmade bowl as a reminder of hunger around the world collected funds in support of the Kiwanis and Plateau Outreach Ministries food banks.

We want to thank Diane Anderson of Enumclaw Rotary for passing along the update today that the Empty Bowls Benefit in March this year collected in total, $6,432 in support of the Kiwanis and Plateau Outreach Ministries food banks.

Participants gathered during the benefit to have a simple meal of soup while admiring the craftsmanship of local artists who created the handmade bowls. Each person took home a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls that remain around the world.

The funds were split evenly between the two local food banks.
