Enjoy a Night out at Palate of the Plateau

Sample a wide variety of local food and bid on cool auction items in support of Rainier Hills Young Life.

You know which restaurants you like on the Plateau -- whether it's Frankie's Pizza, Dickey's Barbeque Pit or Mazatlan. But do you ever wish you could access all these great local places at once and not have to choose?

Wafflers, rejoice! No decisions need to be made tonight at the Palate of the Plateau & Benefit Auction event, as all these fabulous local restaurants and more will be in attendance, providing the good food they're known for, all the while supporting a good cause.

Proceeds benefit Rainier Hills Young Life,  a non-denominational Christian outreach group that works with teens.

The Rainier Hills Young Life group serves about 400 teens locally and regionally through the work and mentorship of about 40 adult volunteers. The group covers the Plateau area, including Black Diamond, Greenwater, parts of Bonney Lake and all middle and high schools in the Enumclaw and White River school districts and just recent began in the Tahoma School District as well.

Highlights of Young Life's outreach efforts include its popular summer camps with locations in Eastern Oregon and in British Columbia. Teens are able to help cover expenses through scholarship and ample fundraising opportunities, like this one!

The event takes place at the Enumclaw High School Commons tonight, Saturday, March 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At the door, tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children. Kids 5 and under are free.

When asked what made working in Enumclaw great, Rainier Hills Young Life director Mike Iversen said, "It's the interconnectedness and overarching community feel that the Plateau area has. It's a caring community that really looks out for the interest and well-being of its residents, and kids in particular."

So won't you come out and support this important local group?

More on Young Life

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
