Here is the warning from the NWS:

An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 11 pm this evening, July 1.

  • Timing: temperatures across the greater Seattle metropolitan   area today will be similar to Sunday...and humidity will be   slightly higher. While Tuesday will be somewhat cooler...the   temperatures will still be above normal. A gradual cooling trend   will continue for the rest of the week.
  • Temperature: highs today will be in the mid 80s to mid 90s in   the Seattle metropolitan area. Lows tonight will be in the   upper 50s to mid 60s.
  • Impacts: hot weather lures many to rivers and lakes. Please be   aware that the water...especially in the rivers...is cold enough   to be hazardous. In addition river currents are strong this time   of the year.  Those sensitive to heat spells...such as the elderly...and those working outdoors should be prepared for a period of hot weather.

Take extra precaution if you work or spend time outside. When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.  Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely.
