WHY GO? No doubt your kids are eagerly awaiting this much-anticipated June 24 theater release. Build up the excitement and bring kids ages three to eight to Borders this weekend for a Cars-filled event. Contact the store for more details.

ONE WORLD, MANY STORIES – PIERCE COUNTY LIBRARIES
WHEN? June 18 – August 13
WHY GO? This weekend kicks off the start of Pierce County’s annual summer reading program. Several events are taking place throughout the summer for kids aged 0-18 to encourage reading. Age appropriate passports and logs are available with prizes awarded on completion. You can download a reading passport (ages 3-12) or reading log (ages 13-18) online or pick one up at any branch.
HOW MUCH? Free
FAMILY SUNDAY – EMERALD DOWNS, AUBURN
WHEN? Sundays starting June 19th
WHY GO? Bring the kids for a day at the races and everyone will enjoy the afternoon. With nap friendly race times not starting until 2 p.m., the Downs offers plenty to keep the kids busy. If you can get the kids out of the bounce house, try face painting or a pony ride. Kids will enjoy the atmosphere as much as the adults and everyone will love to watch from the finish line.
HOW MUCH? All activities free with admission. $7 for adults, 17 and under are free.
FAMILY MEAL DEAL – CHENEY STADIUM, TACOMA
WHEN? Select Saturdays through the summer
WHY GO? Enjoy a day at the ball park, but with a little less crowd and a little less commute. The newly renovated Cheney Stadium is home to our Mariners’ triple-A ballteam, the Tacoma Rainiers, and offers a chance to see the game up close for a lot less. Take advantage of the Family Meal Deal which includes game tickets, pizza, zoo passes and ball caps!
