Grab & Go: Elmo Turns 3, Build a Racecar or Stay Inside and Read

Head indoors this week to wait out the last of our winter chill.

When: Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

Why go: Elmo turns 3! Come celebrate Elmo’s birthday with the Borders store on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Join in the fun with stories, songs, crafts and more.  Open to kids ages 3-6. Contact the store for more information.

Lowe’s Build and Grow, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Bonney Lake

When: Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m.

Why go: Register online and bring your kid into Lowe’s to build a pull-back racecar made of wood. Intended for kids age 5 and older.

Cost: Free

For the Love of Reading, Sumner Library

When: Saturday, Feb. 26 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Why go: Teens will love this opportunity to hear young adult authors speak and answer questions. Books will be available for purchase and for signing. Refreshments are provided.

Cost: A non-perishable food donation for the Sumner Community Food Bank

Indoor Play Park, Robert Miller Gym, Sumner

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Why go: Kids ages 1-5 will enjoy the opportunity to play with their peers in this fun, indoor setting full of toys, music and other play equipment.

Cost:$3 per child or a 10-visit/$25 punch card is available.

Story Time, Enumclaw Library

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Why go: Kids will enjoy the stories, finger play, puppets, games and more!  Toddler Time is intended for kids age 2-3 ½ and takes place on Tuesdays with a shorter duration. Preschool Story time is Thursdays for children ages 3 ½ to 5.
