Great Escape: Hit the Trails

Take advantage of the springtime sunbreaks and hit the trails on your bike.

Now that the sun is starting to shine a little more consistently, I know many who are eager to get outside. A healthy dose of fresh air isn’t just for the small fry. And couldn’t we all benefit from a little vitamin D right about now?

Consider escaping the confines of your four walls and taking advantage of the many miles of bike trails in the area. From Orting to South Prairie and Buckley, the offers smooth and even bike trails that are well-maintained and begging for your two wheels.

For a perfect outing to forget about work and burn off any pent-up aggression, grab a friend or your spouse for an afternoon date and stop by Main Street Coffee or the Orting Bakery for a pre- or post-ride treat.

It is not uncommon to spy salmon on your ride. This trail also has three rest stops featuring benches, picnic tables and grills. Parking and restrooms available at the trailheads.

BUCKLEY TRAILHEAD – This small section of trail is nearly 2 miles long and provides for a quick and accessible route through the town of Buckley. There is a planned bridge across the White River intended to connect the Buckley trail to the Enumclaw trail.

Happy riding.
