GREAT ESCAPE: How about Iceland?

Make your escape a knock-out by jet setting off on a mini-vacation only few have seen – to one of the hottest spots on the planet. Don't let the name fool you.

You may have heard the adage: Iceland is all green and Greenland is all ice.  Now is your chance to find out.  From now through Friday, Icelandic Air is offering a package deal that includes air from Seattle, two-night hotel and sightseeing for only $599 per person for September and October departures.

Hop an evening flight from Sea-Tac and arrive bright and early into Reykjavik where (very) early hotel breakfast is included.  This day is scheduled for you to spend how you please – maybe to spend in the Art Gallery of South Iceland – did I mention it’s included?  The following day, you’ll set off for the full-day Golden Circle tour that highlights three of Iceland’s most-popular places.  Get a chance to explore this unique destination by visiting Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Geothermal Area and Thingvellir National Park.

Before your day is done, the tour concludes with time at the famed Laugarvatn, Fontana region, home to Lake Laugarvatn, which boasts sandy beaches and open air baths of the pristine Icelandic waters.

Returning home on day 4 may feel like a whirlwind trip, but considering what your co-workers did over the weekend, you’ll be basking in the glow of adventure and spontaneity.  Besides, it’s cheaper than Vegas.
