Locking Down Your Facebook Privacy Settings Now More Important Than Ever

Facebook's new Graph Search was introduced this week for users. It can do amazing things, but you need to be careful.

The newest feature of Facebook, introduced this week, is called Graph Search, and the product has security experts warning you to be especially diligent in making sure the privacy settings on your account are where you want them to be.

Graph Search is a more sophisticated search engine of Facebook data, data that's already available to you, but as Nick Baker of PolicyMic points out, it "also opens the door to creepier Facebook stalking than ever before." And as the Huffington Post points out, "starting this week, everyone with a Facebook account can find friends from London who like 'True Blood' or married people who like prostitutes.

A lot of us sign up for Facebook accounts, but never bother with adjusting our privacy settings, assuming we're okay.  It may be time to rethink that.
