Meet Cheri & Buddy

Two great family-friendly pets looking for a home.

Regional Animal Services (RAS) of King County services 26 cities, including Enumclaw.  We’ll work with RAS to introduce animals that are seeking a companion and new home.

CHERI

The 3-year-old brown and white tabby has been with RAS since January. This quiet feline is an easy-going and affectionate house cat. She’d love nothing better than to curl up in your lap for an afternoon nap. Her need for affection and friendly nature would make her a good fit in nearly any home.

BUDDY

Sweet, playful Buddy was surrendered to the RAS in February by his owners because of his hypothyroid disorder. This small dog's slight health issue, which costs less than pennies a day to maintain with easily obtained medicine, did not warrant the euthanize request that his former owners wanted. As he has been receiving good care at the shelter, his spirits are high and his hair is growing back! Buddy is a great walking companion and outdoor friend and has shown to be aware of several basic obedience commands.

If you are interested in adopting Cheri, Buddy or any of the other amazing pets at the King County shelter, please visit the shelter. Regional Animal Services is located in Kent at 21615 64th Ave. S. They are open Mondays from 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesdays to Fridays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

Adoption fees vary from animal to animal. Adult cat adoptions are $35, kittens are $75 and dog adoptions start at $75 depending on age and breed. The adoption fees include spay or neuter, first vaccines, a free first veterinary visit and a one-year pet license. Micro-chipping is also available for an additional $25.

With the imminent concern of the Green River flooding this winter, there is a heightened need for donations of plastic cat carriers.

Additionally, human help is always welcome! If you are interested in volunteering your time or making donations to the animal shelter, you can find more information at http://www.kingcounty.gov/pets or by calling the shelter at 206-296-7387 (PETS).
