100 Miles for One Mind, will honor fallen U.S. service men and women from Washington state and will raise awareness and money for One Mind for Research, a Seattle-based non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of people, including veterans, who are affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other diseases of the brain.

Runners can register as individuals or as part of a relay team, but they need to be quick, as Friday, July 19 is the deadline.

According to information sent to Patch, "The ultramarathon isn't a new sports phenomenon, but this ultra has a special mission: it's not a race. All runners—Marines and civilians alike—will start and finish together."
