Photo Gallery: Opening Day at King County Fair

Have some old-fashioned fun at the Fair, which runs through Sunday, July 14.

Lots of sun breaks and warm temperatures greeted early birds to the opening of the 2013 King County Fair on Thursday. Once inside the gate, it didn't take long to discover the aromas of some good, old-fashioned fair food.

There were hot, freshly-baked pretzels; colorful cotton candy; crispy corn dogs; and onion rings so large a young girl could wear them as a bracelet.

The huge ears of corn-on-the-cob for sale at T & J Cornhuskers were so hot that the attendants had to wear gloves.

The Fair began Thursday and runs through Sunday, July 14. It's being held on 284th at the Enumclaw Expo Center.
