Rotary Generosity in Pictures: Enumclaw Group Contributes More than $15,000 to Various Local Causes

From full-day kindergarten scholarships to infrastructure for Plateau Outreach Ministries to food programs benefiting the local community, the Enumclaw Rotary Club has supported a number of causes so far this year.

The Enumclaw Rotary Club has been writing a few checks lately. Just past the first quarter of 2013, the local organization has already contributed more than $15,000 to a variety of recipients in the community, including:

  • $2,500 per scholarship for 3 to 4 full-day kindergarten scholarships per year in the Enumclaw School District. Since scholarships became necessary in 2009, Rotary has contributed more than $47,000 to send local kindergarteners to school full day.
  • $5,000 toward a matching grant - total $10,000 - for a new heating/cooling system for More Pennies from Heaven
  • $2,615 to Plateau Outreach Ministries and Kiwanis food banks from the Empty Bowls fundraiser earlier this year

Rotarian Diane Anderson shared a few photos from last Thursday's meeting during which the checks were handed out.
