This Weekend: Library Open House, Business Grand Openings and a Christmas Parade, Oh My!

Here's a look at what's happening around Enumclaw on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Thought you'd be stuck at home with nothing to do on Saturday? Think again.

Refurbished Enumclaw Library Open House

  • When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Enumclaw Library
  • Why Go: With voters' approval of annexation into the King County Library System earlier this year, KCLS briefly closed the library in November to make several improvements in infrastructure and service. Here's your chance now to see what those improvements are. Also enjoy a performance by the Gateway Concert Band. One of KCLS’ outreach vehicles, Library2Go!, will be on-site as well. Plus refreshments!
  • Cost: Free

  • When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 1: 2:30 p.m. ceremony at Kasey Kahne Store; 3 p.m. ceremony at Creekside of Enumclaw
  • Why Go: Celebrate the spirit of local entrepreneurs, especially if you'll be in town later anyway for the Christmas parade. Looks like Creekside will also be providing free coffee, cocoa and cupcakes during the parade.

Enumclaw 'Whoville' Christmas Parade

  • When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. downtown on Cole Street
  • Why Go: Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the Christmas holidays with your fellow Enumclaw residents - many of whom will be marching in the parade. There will also be a Battle of the Bands contest for school bands who are participating, and decide for yourself which float/parade group should win in the categories of 'Most Christmas Spirit,' 'Best Treat Giveaway,' 'Grinch-est,' and 'Best Whoville Theme Overall.'
  • Cost: Free

Now, if you're unfortunate enough to be out of town this weekend, perhaps catch back up with the Gateway Concert Band's Yuletide Celebration Concert at Enumclaw High School on Monday, Dec. 3, beginning at 7:15 p.m. Fees are donation-based and the concert is directed by Mr. Jack Prindle.
