VIDEO: Crowd Descends on Enumclaw Business for Brandi Carlile Performance

The musician and bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth were in town to help celebrate the grand opening of Mountain Aire Mercantile in downtown Enumclaw.

Mountain Aire Mercantile had its earlier in July as owners Kyle Diercks and Kari Cassidy-Diercks worked through the many details involved in running a business including store inventory, menu offerings and getting proper licenses for specialty beers and wines.

Two months later, they were ready for their grand opening and shared the event with everyone in town Monday with day-long festivities including live music, barbeque, fun and activities for the whole family.

The celebration was capped with a live performance by singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, originally from nearby Ravensdale, along with band members Phil and Tim Hanseroth that packed the store as well as both doorways to 'the Merc.'

Mom Teresa told us Brandi was once a regular performer at just down the street; the now-famous singer returned to familiar territory Monday to help support another local business.

Ed Note: We found a neat little video on YouTube of mom and daughter singing 'Stand By Your Man.' It's linked to this story as well.

Ed Note 2: So many great clips of Carlile's music couldn't all make it onto the site. To check out the band's rendition of Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues,' visit our Enumclaw Patch Facebook page. While you're there, 'like' us if you haven't already.

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.
