Whether it was helping to beautify the downtown corridor in Enumclaw, restoring native plants and natural resources in King County or just celebrating each other at the Senior Center, folks were out and about this Saturday.

Though the weather started out rather iffy Saturday morning, it turned into a beautiful day during which many members of the community rolled up their sleeves to either lend a hand or show their appreciation for one another.

Patch was headed to the Pancake Breakfast at the , which was sponsored by the center in support of , when we stumbled across a group of hardworking folks from and the pulling weeds and helping to tidy up sections of Cole Street.

We then headed to the senior center to partake in some great music by Dan Farr's Band Original Recipe as everyone enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice.

Lastly, having spoken to Bernie McKinney of the Middle Green River Coalition earlier this week about its today, we really wanted to check out the work his group is doing. So we headed over to a 10-acre site along Beaver Lake that is part of a conservation area called the Bass/Beaver/Dandy Lake Natural area and Green River Gorge Mountains to Valley Greenway. McKinney's group acquired a $5,000 grant from REI this year to restore the site along Beaver Lake.
