The Wheels competed against some of the best rock bands in King County.

Finishing second was another hometown band, Inside Out and Backwards, which took home $150.

Geoff and Amanda Jarman, brother and sister, play the guitars, while Thomas Horn played drums.

“I enjoyed myself while being on the stage.  It made me feel like a rock star,” Horn said.

Holy Child of Seattle won $50 for placing third. That group consists of vocalist Robert Alarcon, guitarist Jesse Montoya-Gonzalez, pianist Johanna Alarcon, bassist Eric Ridley and both Fernando and Carlos Sanchez on percussion.

The first band to take center stage was Perpetual Jet Lag of Federal Way, which played a 45-minute set.   Jon Carlson is on bass, Ryan Wolfe on drums, Neil Wagner on guitar and Luke Kosbab sings, plays guitar and keyboards.

The other band in the contest, Ramiro, like some of the other bands, had recordings of their songs available for sale both at the concert and on iTunes.
