Thank you to Monica Bainter, a proud parent of an Enumclaw Middle School musician, for the following report and photos:

More than 70 musicians from Enumclaw Middle School travelled on Saturday May, 7 to the Portland area to compete in the Music In The Parks, bringing home first-place trophies in the band and orchestra categories. Band Director Leonardo Altamiranda took his students to Wilsonville High School to compete against other middle schools from the region.

Following their performance the students were treated to a visit to Oaks Park Amusement Park where the award ceremony was held. The Music In The Parks festival is part of a national series that hosts music festivals around the country near major theme and amusement parks; this was Enumclaw's first time in the competition.
