Why Go? East Pierce County Fire & Rescue are raising funds in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and there are plenty of items up for bidding, including a one-on-one date with a firefighter as well as autographed baseballs, jerseys and a first base by Jon Olerud, Edgar Martinez and Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners. There are also opportunities for hotel stays, gift baskets, an XBOX 360 as well as surfing lessons.

Why Go? A great event to take the kids, get your family dog registered to be judged and win prizes in one of several classes including best tail wagging dog, softest ears and wettest nose. The first 50 registered entrants will receive a special gift.

Where/When: Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Saturday, March 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Where/When: Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Friday, March  25 at 7 p.m. 

Why Go? While a bit of a drive, check this out from the Little Creek Casino events page: Since 2007, Dennis Miller has been heard five days a week on his nationally syndicated Westwood One Radio talk show, “The Dennis Miller Show.” He is also a regular contributor for “The O’Reilly Factor” on the FOX News Channel. It’s been said that Miller is “One of the premiere comedy talents in America today…” While others are blunt assessing Miller’s comedic stature, Dennis himself makes a virtue of understatement, but there is nothing low key about his career.
