Among the top three reasons women say they don't get mammograms once a year is that they are afraid, according to a Seattle Cancer Care Alliance blog post.
"Fear can motivate women to seek mammograms or avoid them. Some people are afraid of doctors, exams, and tests."
Unfortunately, being a woman puts you at risk for breast cancer, regardless of any other factor, the post continues.
