Gettin' Ta Know Your Neighbor!

Meet...

Doug Bursch

Love of your life

I've been married to Jennifer for 20 years. She grew up in Enumclaw under the madden name of Cancro.

Career/Business

I pastor Evergreen Foursquare Church in Auburn and Host Live from Seattle with Doug Bursch, weekdays from 4-6 pm on 820 AM KGNW.

Hobbies/Sports you enjoy

If it's a free day, I'm off with my family exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We hike trails and visit as many local waterways and mountain vistas as possible. We also love exploring the cultural landscape of the surrounding cities. This includes memberships to local museums and other family attractions.

Favorite Enumclaw memory

Besides meeting my wife at Wabash Presbyterian Church, it would have to be attending a late night Switchfoot concert at Creationfest.

Favorite place to go in Enumclaw

Lately, it's gotta be the Avalanche Delite frozen yogurt shop. Although I also like visiting my friends and new owners of The Enumclaw Music store.

Talents

It think my talent has to be my ability to talk about anything, if if I know nothing about it. I'm less talented at listening.

In five words describe yourself

A Servant of Jesus Christ

Favorite Food

A California Sushi Roll

About your family

My lovely wife Jennifer and I have 4 perpetually wonderful children: Kysa 15, Anna 13, Nathaneal 10 and Samuel 6. As they've grown older and wiser, I've become dumber and increasingly wrong.

Pets

We have two cats who tolerate us: Lolly and Nemo are indoor, outdoor, indoor, outdoor, indoor, outdoor cats.

Your biggest challenge

My biggest challenge is learning to be content with what I have, verses what I think I want. Too often I'm dreaming about the next big thing, instead of appreciating what God has already given me. My wife helps me put things in proper perspective.

Do you have a “Cause"

I guess my cause would have to be Jesus. I want people to know that God loves them more than they realize or can even fully understand. Through my radio show, I also raise thousands of dollars for organizations like Feed the Children and the Bible League.

What is #1 on Bucket List

I don't have a Bucket List as I don't really enjoy thinking about "The Bucket." However, if I could do one think before I die, I'd probably take my whole family to visit Israel.

What is #1 on “local” Bucket List

I'd love to help start a church in the heart of Seattle!
