All the Hottest Trends are at Trendz Hair Design and Color Bar

Kick up your feet at the bar -- the Color Bar at Trendz, that is.

Having spent more than 20 years in the hair design profession which began with staff and management positions, Shana Campisi had moved up to district management for a large chain before she realized she was not comfortable with the direction this company was heading. She didn't want to be just a number - she wanted to be independent, and so in 1999, she and her husband decided to open their own salon in Enumclaw. The rest is hair history.

Their first goal for Trendz was to exuthe the exact opposite of the stuffy corporate feel of her previous company; this business was going to be friendly and warm with a family atmosphere. For a small town like Enumclaw, it was the right business plan to match the needs of an intimate community. For 13 years now, Trendz has grown and thrived, so much so that it relocated from the old Sears spot to a trendy little corner on Marshall Avenue and this year is celebrating its first anniversary at the new location.

Alongside Shana is her daughter Sheena Rapp who has been with Trendz since 2003. This mother and daughter team is quite the dynamic duo and it is apparent that the salon business just naturally runs in the family. There are currently five stylists with a possibility for more, which is quite exciting for these style divas.

Trendz Hair Design is much more than the average salon. In fact, the full business name is Trendz Hair Design & Color Bar. Yes, it is a bar and a hair salon in one but not the kind that serves martinis….darn. At the color bar, clients can sit and watch the master mixologists combine the chemicals that will be applied to their heads. There are no secrets here -- just crazy creations of color and friendly consultations.

Served shaken, not stirred.

Shana makes quite the effort to buy her products locally when possible. She truly believes that money should be put back into the local economy—an idea shared by many small business owners in Enumclaw.

Services at the salon include but are not limited to haircuts, trims, color, foils, perms, styling and waxing. Hair tinsel, feathers and color strands for a pop of wildness are also available. Children are a welcome addition to the salon as well. Among the fabulous menu items is one more new and exciting trend recently added: Jamberry Nails.

Jamberry Nails are actually vinyl shields that cover the nails. Say goodbye to harsh chemicals and chips ladies—these nails are hot!  The shields come in every color and design imaginable.  There are lines, polka dots, stripes, checks, patriotic, charity and solids, just to name a few. Looking for flowers, sparkles or circles perhaps? Jamberry has it. Feeling more conservative or wild? Jamberry also has the neutral selection and sensational animal prints.

The great thing about this new nail trend is that Shana and Sheena are both licensed with Jamberry Nails so they can show clients how to correctly apply the nails at home. Of course the service is offered at the salon as well so why not just make it an all-inclusive pampering trip starting with color, hair and cool new cuticle covers. Dare I say that by offering these services, Trendz has…?

Nailed it!

Shana and her team of stylists are excited about the salon's future and always open to new clients. With a family-style approach to business, Shana states proudly, “There are no rules. The only rule is to have fun.”

Trendz Hair Design and Color Bar is located at 1226 Marshall Avenue. They can be reached by phone at 360-802-9786, Facebook or www.trendzhairdesign.com.

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
