It seemed like May would never get here but guess what? It's here and this Saturday, May 12, there are two big events happening in town that you might just want to check out:
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., assorted local artists are opening their work spaces up for you to explore and learn about their creative processes. Artists will demonstrate techniques, show, and sell their works. The tour guides you through seven locations:
- at 1429 Cole Street
- Hot Shop at 226 Semanski Street (The Hot Shop will also be open on Sunday, May 13, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
- Cathy Matson’s Country Garden Bouquets at 46620 - 228th Avenue S.E.
- Carol Meeks at 48633 - 282nd Avenue S.E.
- Suzanne Popp at 27455 S.E. 400th Way
- Samantha Rheinford at 1408 Porter Street
- Lori Twiggs at 40405 - 256th Avenue S.E.
In addition to the studio artists, other artists will be creating work at multiple locations, including the high school, Country Garden Bouquets and Arts Alive. Seventeen artists in all will be participating.
Any studio can be the starting point for this FREE event. Visitors can obtain a map to locations on the tour at any of the participating studios.
Want a teaser? Check out the front windows of Arts Alive on the evenings of Wednesday, May 9 through Friday, May 11 between about 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. and see a few artists at work right then and there.
As the studio tours wind down around 5 p.m., so begins the evening's wine walk that is slated to run until 9 p.m. in the evening. Actually, some artists will also be featured downtown during the evening event.
Streets downtown will be closed so that 20 local businesses can do their thing showcasing 20 Washington wineries.
Tickets cost $25 and include 10 tasting tickets as well as a Riedel wine glass. Need more info? Like Enumclaw Wine Walk on Facebook for the latest updates!
