Enjoy Wine, Support Local Businesses and Help Stock Food Banks at Wine Walk Saturday

The Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce hosts its 3rd annual Winter Wine Walk Saturday, and participating business Rainier View Construction & Roofing is concurrently collecting items to donate to Plateau Outreach Ministries.

Twenty four Washington wines will be available for sampling during this Saturday's Winter Wine Walk in Enumclaw, which means its your excuse to also check out 24 Enumclaw businesses that will be hosting the various vineyards and maybe get an early start on your holiday shopping.

Granted, not all businesses are conducive to your being able to walk out with a shopping bag containing a piece of merchandise, but say, when was the last time you checked out the Park Center Hotel and the improvements made to the building?

Or had you been able to visit newly opened Creekside of Enumclaw or Kasey Kahne store yet?

There are exciting things happening at your local businesses and what better way to check them out then at this event that also celebrates the vintners in this state?

While you keep an eye out on the perfect gifts for friends and family this year, Rainier View Construction and Roofing (stop No. 8 on the wine walk), would kindly ask you to remember to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Plateau Outreach Ministries this holiday season. For each item donated, the participant will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to take home a case of private label Maryhill wine. Other prizes will also be available and if you happen to miss the Wine Walk itself, the company will continue to collect items for POM through Dec. 21, offering a separate raffle drawing for a holiday gift basket as incentive to stop by. To learn more, read their announcement.

Tickets for the wine walk event cost $30, which include a passport, wine glass and tasting tickets, and can be purchased the day of or ahead of time at www.enumclawchamber.com. More information about the event is available on the event's Facebook page.

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
