Gamblin Motors Seeks to Take Intimidation out of Vehicle Service with Ladies Night Tonight

The local dealership urges women to leave the men at home so they can learn the ins and outs of auto repair without interference and enjoy an evening of food and shopping provided by local vendors.

Though women tend to control much of the buying power in a given household, they appear to defer decisions regarding vehicle maintenance to their husbands or significant others.

Such was the observation that Tyson Gamblin of relayed to us recently when we checked out a .

Consequently, "we decided that a clinic targeted just for women we could leave their macho husbands at home so they can learn and in a fun environment," he wrote to Patch in an email.

And thus, Ladies Night was born. The event tonight is actually the second one dedicated to women, Gamblin said. The dealership held a Ladies Night last July where local vendors representing companies like Silpada and Scentsy Candles were present. Organizers provided dinner and several mini clinics on topics such as how to change a flat tire, what to do in case of an accident, what all the lights on the dashboard mean and what some of the parts of a vehicle are and what they do.

Tonight's event will be very similar. More than 20 vendors have been confirmed to attend, said Gamblin. It takes place at the dealership at 1047 Roosevelt Avenue East in Enumclaw and begins at 6:30 p.m., running to about 8:30 p.m.

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
