The 'building for lease or sale' sign that appeared in the window display at Porter's Antiques recently may have given some folks cause, but the good news is they're not going away.
More like heading across the street to bunk up with a fellow merchant.
Young's Enumclaw Flowers and Gifts owners John and Helen Locatelli told Patch earlier this week that while Porter's was set to close at its current location, it is joining them as The Vintage Garden just as soon as a remodel of the interior was complete.
Coreen Baxter, who worked in Porter's and will be The Vintage Garden proprietor, wrote in her blog about the rearranging of roles between herself and Sharon Porter, of Porter's Antiques. (See the entry.)
A newly created Facebook page for The Vintage Garden indicates it will open at Young's in May as a soft launch with a grand opening in June.
The front of Young's will be redone for The Vintage Garden while its floral business will move towards the rear of the store, John said.
This means a lot of stuff has to go at both Young's and Porter's Antiques, and big bargains are to be had this weekend at both stores.
Helen Locatelli said items including furniture and holiday gifts will be hugely marked down. Baxter indicated a similar desire to make room for new merchandise on her blog.
The sales start today, Friday, March 15 and runs through Sunday, March 17. Perhaps you might stop in during the pub crawl?
