More on the Whatzis that seem to live "out there"

O - Mah? Bigfoot ? Sasquatch? Fog? Bears?

I've been reading, puzzling over, listening to recordings, talking with others and I'm still confused. I've recounted my own experiences here before, and some experiences of others, so will not re - state those. But, of what are these various experiences made? I could present 100's of cut - and - paste accounts I've run across - there are a lot of them, a very lot, dating from before the white man began arriving on this continent. There are accounts after accounts of experienced hunters, guides with a rifle scope on one of these animals, who were unable to shoot as the animal looked too much like a human. A large human. So I ask this rhetorical question - is everyone of these people lying, smoking funny cigarettes, drunk, mistaken - even when in some instances face to face with the animal? Why would so many people get together - over the years - and decide to invent these stories?  (Now there's one for the conspiracy folks!)

Some of the accounts report rocks being thrown. Boulders inexplicably rolling down a hillside - toward hikers. But my favorite is "footsteps in the night" - where people in their tents heard distinct bi - pedal footsteps wandering through their campsite. Getting up after an uneasy night to find their clothing strewn around. Taking a day hike from their campsite, returning to find all in disarray, their fire circle destroyed, tent flattened. Observing single trees shaking. Some have reported feeling they were being watched - as both wife #2 and I experienced. The guy who was stationed at Huckleberry the next year when I'd moved on reported hearing heavy footsteps come up the trail, go past the cabin and proceed out of hearing up the trail. In the dark! ( And the Deep Woods there are dark at night - no electricity so no lights - he saw no flashlight, no source of light. ) He also saw nothing in the dark.

What to make of these events? Are these people all mistaken? These events did not happen as reported, so every one of them are lying? Why are they lying? Back to the several century conspiracy theory! Another rhetorical question - why no evidence? Evidence in this case means bodies, skeletons. The first person with an actual body or skeleton of a Bigfoot would obviously be able to cash in on his find, so why has no one come forth with such a find?

My response is twofold - first, probably there are not very many of these creatures, so it would be difficult to run across a body/skeleton ( remember it wasn't until the late 19th century science finally recognized the gorilla, after years of rumors?) I've spent summer after summer in the woods where hunters annually collect deer and elk - and a few bears, and I can report seeing lots and lots of deer, quite a few elk, and a few bears. I should have run across a body or skeleton of one of these critters, but have not. ( I did find the partial skeleton of a mountain goat.) One skeleton, none of the omnipresent deer. Hmm - why is that? Surely I would have found at least one deer or skeleton, as there are so many deer out there?

The answer seems to lie with nature's garbage disposal system. It doesn't take very long for a dead deer to be completely stripped of all flesh. And the bones? Ripped off by predators, carried away.

So there goes the body/skeleton question. There seems to be quite a bit of footprint evidence - unless of course you agree with the conspiracy theory - in which case all the footprints are fakes. If some of them are not fakes, then what are they? Indeed, I live about a quarter of a mile from where some campers had an experience. The investigator wound up having rocks thrown at him the next day, but could not see anyone. ( He's evidently in on the conspiracy.) Now what?
