Santorum/Obama

republican ideals

I began this post to discuss the republican "candidates" for POTUS this year, but decided to do a bit more expostulating and discuss republican ideals as seen out here in, as Rachel Maddow puts it "Reality Land." To begin, I watched several of the republican "debates" - which were not debates but a circus show as, indeed, were the "debates" between Obama and his Democrat challengers in 2008. In Obama's case they hit him for not wearing an American flag pin - which had zero, zip, nothing to do with Obama's qualifications / ability to be President.

The republican idiocy was filled with similar vacuous attacks on each other, which then often segued into seeing who could bash Obama most. As mentioned above, what does any of that have to do with their qualifications / abilities to be POTUS? Who out here in Reality Land thinks it worthwhile to learn which candidate could bash the current President the most?

Then there were the usual lies/"mis - spokes." Obama is "anti energy." Really? How is that, guys? Since Obama took office with the country sighing in relief after eight onerous years of bush - league president dropped ball fatigue, the number of oil rigs in this country has grown to the point the U.S.A. now has more oil rigs than the rest of the world, while we are producing substantially more oil per year than under the mis - management of the former ( thank God he's now a former ) president. Guys, how is that anti - energy?

Oh, you say Obama gave a loan to Brazil to help their oil industry? To start, Obama did not make this loan, it was a little known group the "Import / Export" committee whose members were appointed by - ready for this guys? Those committee members were appointed by the bush - league president. So guys, republicans, as you tried to give credit to the bush league president for Obama having pushed the successful effort to corral bin Laden, try staying in form here and give the bush-league president the credit for appointing committee members who approved a loan to Brazil's oil industry.

I'll add another mis - conception the republicans are saying - Obama has increased our debt - by a huge amount. True guys, the amount of debt is staggering, especially since Obama over - ruled the bush leaguer by using a tactic little known among republicans. "Honesty." Obama included the costs of the bush league wars in the budget instead of hiding them. Bingo! Obama is a profligate. Right, guys.

I'll close by noting I wanted Rick "man on dog" Santorum to win the republican nomination. To begin, I think he is doing what I mentioned above is little known by republicans - he's honest about his feelings that he thinks our country needs to regress to the mores of the 1700's and I'd love to see him debate Obama. Not because he'll make a fool of himself, ( which I don't think he would ) but I really want the whole country to see where republican ideals are leading. I'm not sure whether such a debate would help or hinder either of them, but that debate would have been most enlightening.

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
