4,508 PSE Customers Still Without Power in Enumclaw Area

There is still spotty outages for city utility customers Friday, and a warming shelter is available at Mutual of Enumclaw through Saturday.

The latest update from Puget Sound Energy on its service alert website indicates there is still 4,508 customers in the Enumclaw area without power Friday afternoon.

In surrounding communities, there are 2,968 PSE customers without power in Buckley, 19,986 in Auburn, 1,313 in Ravensdale and 1,888 in Black Diamond.

Enumclaw city administrator Mike Thomas said Friday afternoon that of city utility customers, there were still some outages in the southern parts of the city, but most of the city is back up and running.

However, as temperatures rise and tree branches thaw, it is likely new debris will be falling on power lines causing repeat outages. "In fact, I'd be surprised if there weren't [more outages]," he said.

Today through Saturday, a warming shelter is set up at Mutual of Enumclaw. According to Mayor Liz Reynolds, this service is in place to offer assistance for those seeking warm shelter. Cots, blankets and food are available .This service will be operational for another the next 24 hours.
