This is the second-highest Powerball Jackpot in history for the state of Washington.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release issued Monday by Washington's Lottery.

OLYMPIA – This Wednesday could bring a lucky Washingtonian a major boost to get through the week. The Powerball jackpot currently stands at $305 million – the second highest since the game’s 2010 debut in Washington State! With that amount of money, one lucky winner could purchase more than 5,000,000 London Summer Olympics memorabilia jackets.

The next drawing takes place this Wednesday at 8 p.m., and Washington is hoping to take home the gold!

With fall just around the corner, Washington’s Lottery imagined what else someone could do with the $305 million jackpot.

  • Give Seahawks season tickets to the entire population of Pierce County (415,568).
  • Extend Labor Day weekend plans by taking a cruise to Alaska and pay for the entire city of Vancouver to come along!
  • Pay an entire year’s tuition for the University of Washington Class of 2015.

Not only could a local resident walk away with big bucks, but the retailer that sells a winning ticket could receive a retail selling bonus up to $50,000. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery and for all up-to-date winning numbers, visit www.walottery.com.
