UPDATE: Schools Closed Today as Enumclaw Area Likely to See Higher Snow Accumulations

The National Weather Service says the heaviest snow accumulations on Tuesday are likely to be around the higher terrain of South Snohomish County and near the Cascades in the east Puget Sound lowlands.

Both the Enumclaw and White River school districts are closed today due to snow and icy conditions. And at Green River Community College, classes begin at 10 a.m. and employees are to report at 9 a.m.

The Enumclaw area could see up to three inches of snow today in addition to snow that's fallen overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Then, betweenΒ  tonight through Wednesday night, a significant winter storm is expected to add another 5 to 10 inches.

There is currently a winter weather advisory in effect until 4 p.m. today. A winter storm warning is in effect from midnight tonight through midnight Wednesday.

And if you're relying on the bus, King County Metro Transit is remaining on snow routing countywide today. And, with continuing snowfall forecast, there could be some bus trips or routes cancelled today. Conditions could also change throughout the day today depending on the timing and location of the snowfall.
