Five boys and girls from this area, ages 10 thru 14, were named District Champions of the 2013 Knights Of Columbus Free Throw Championship January 27 in competition in Puyallup and have earned the right to compete at the regional level.
Sacred Heart Council 13364 in Enumclaw, together with other councils in District 11, sponsored the event. All those competing were winners at the local levels. The local level in Enumclaw was held January 19 at Southwood Elementary School.
The winners at the Distrct were Ty Albrecht age 10, Danika Seabrands age 11, Jessica Cerne age 13, Drew Seabrands age 14, and Sydney Andersen age 14. These winners will now set their sights on the State Contest to be held March 23 in Yakima..
The Knights Of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, regional and state competitions. International Champions are announced by the KoC International headquarters based on scores from the state level competions.All boys and girls age 10 to 14 years of age are eligible to compete in their respective age divisions. Last year morethan 179,000 sharpshooters participated in over 3,000 local events.
