The week's been grinding by and it's time to take a few minutes and start thinking about the weekend.

This week Patch offers a few local ideas as well as a few options to get you off the Plateau and into the urban action.

Where/When: Puyallup Fair Grounds (Americraft ShowPlex, Pavilion, Centennial Building) on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Cool cars and nice people -- what's not to like?
Pricing: Saturday: $10 regular admission; $8 for active military and seniors ages 65 and over; $7 for ages 13-16; Free if under age 12 and accompanied by an adult. On Sunday, $7 for ages 13 and over (free if under age 12 and accompanied by an adult)
Where/When:  Hop Jack's in Bonney Lake.
Why Go: Perfection on a plate!  These doughnuts will make you think about turning around and going back for more.

Best of Seattle Comedy Competition

Where/When:  Pantages Theater in Tacoma, Saturday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go:  What a great early Valantine's date!  See some of the best comics do their thing on stage as they battle to be the winner of this fantastic competition.

Where/When:  Saturday, Feb. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mandolin Cafe (12th & Proctor in Tacoma); Sunday, Feb. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Cutters Point Coffee (State Route 18 and Kent Kangley in Kent)

Why Go: Phil has been entertaining with his fantastic guitar stylings for decades.  Couple Phil and his band with a great cup of coffee or glass of wine and you have the makings for one fine evening.

Where/When:  1837 Marion St, Enumclaw, WA 98022
From 1 p.m.  to 4 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays

Why Go: The Plateau Historical Society provides a great look into the history of Enumclaw.  With artifacts, books, pictures, and folks who've lived the history of the area the Historical Society is a great place to spend a winter afternoon getting to know Enumclaw.
