Highway 410 to be Down to One Lane for Repaving Project

Work in Greenwater area won't be done until mid-October.

State Route 410 in the Greenwater area will be reduced to one lane for paving and sign work starting today.

The State Department of Transportation work will require eastbound and westbound drivers to follow a pilot car through the work zone, a
WSDOT news release says.

The work, scheduled to be done in mid-October, also will include strip-ing and center rumble strips.

The work will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and until noon on Fridays, when weekend traffic picks up.

The effected area is from Twin Creek Bridge to Mount Rainier National Park, mileposts 38.5 to 47.7.

The news release says years of rain, ice and winter traffic to Crystal Mountain, followed by summer drivers to Mount Rainier, have taken
their toll on the road, which is rutted and deteriorating in many areas.
