More 'Camper Cats' Available for Adoption this Weekend

King County Regional Animal Services teams up with Kitty Harbor for adoption event.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release issued by King County.

More of the so-called “Camper Cats” will be available for adoption this weekend. Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is partnering with Kitty Harbor to find new homes for some of the cats, which were taken into custody last month after they were found living in a cramped, filthy camper in Auburn.

The Presidents Day Weekend adoption event takes place on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19 from noon until 6 p.m. at Kitty Harbor, 3422 Harbor Ave. SW in Seattle. Further details about the adoption event, including a map to the location, are available at Kitty Harbor’s website, www.KittyHarborSeattle.org.

“We are excited to team up with Kitty Harbor for this special adoption event,” said RASKC interim manager Glynis Frederiksen. “Like Regional Animal Services, Kitty Harbor is focused on finding good homes for pets. By joining forces for this weekend’s event, Regional Animal Services and Kitty Harbor can find great homes for these cats.”

“Including the Camper Cats, we will have more than 70 cats and kittens available for adoption at this special event,” said Delyn Kosbab, owner of Kitty Harbor. “This will be Kitty Harbor’s last adoption event until we re-open for the season in June.”

Adoption fees will range from $30 to $90, cash only. Adopters should also bring a carrier in order to take their new family member home.

RASKC also has many other great pets looking for forever homes. The King County Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Hours are 3 – 6 p.m. Monday, noon – 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and noon – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Available pets can also be seen at www.kingcounty.gov/pets.
