Mowich and White River Roads Closed for Season

With last weekend's snow levels reaching as low as Longmire, Mount Rainier National Park officials are also reminding visitors that all vehicles need to carry chains as of Nov. 1.

Mount Rainier National Park officials have closed Mowich Road and White River Road to the White River Campground for the winter, according to social media updates Monday on Facebook and Twitter.

Meanwhile, the road to Paradise from Longmire closes nightly at the gate in Longmire with opening depending on the weather. Statuses of that road are posted daily to the park's Twitter site.

According to the park website, Chinook Pass currently has an estimated closure date of Nov. 13 while Cayuse Pass is at Nov. 26.
