Overnight Rock Slide on State Route 410, Clean-up Continues

Slide was first reported at 3:30 a.m. and was mostly cleared by 5 a.m. However, crews will be on scene for clean-up so westbound lane will be affected.

A rock slide was reported on State Route 410, about seven miles east of Enumclaw at about 3:30 a.m. this morning, the state Department of Transportation said.

Spokesperson Kris Olsen described it as a large rock that had come loose and tumbled onto the roadway and then crumbling into smaller pieces as it made contact. Most of the debris landed behind the guardrail, she said.

Crews had cleared the debris blocking the westbound lane by about 5 a.m., said Noel Brady, also of the WSDOT. However, crews will again be out today clearing up the remaining debris behind the guardrail, Olsen said.
