Plateau Outreach Ministries Announces Cooking Classes this Month

Two events take place on May 14 and May 20, both at 12 p.m. at POM.

Plateau Outreach Ministries in its April 2013 newsletter shared some exciting news about a new offering for the community:

SNAC (Seattle Nutrition Action Consortium) will be providing two cooking classes at POM coming in May!  Two presentations will be held one on May 14th and the other May 20th, both at 12:30 pm at Plateau Outreach Ministries.  We will utilize our new flexible food bank area for the cooking demonstrations, so come in through our Marshall Street entrance.

SNAC’s mission is to improve the health and nutritional well being of limited income families with children in Seattle and King County. SNAC promotes the good taste of healthy food.  They have worked collaboratively since 1994 to promote common nutrition messages and teach practical nutrition education.  SNAC’s message is simple: Healthy meals are easy to make and taste great!

The classes will teach families about nutrition and allow attendees to participate in preparing a healthy recipe and taste freshly prepared foods.  The classes are open to all those who are interested. Mark your calendars and come join us!
