Powerball Jackpot is Record $425 Million on Wednesday: What Would You Do if You Won?

The current jackpot also has a cash value option of $278.3 million.

Saturday night's Powerball® jackpot is a record $425 million after no one won Saturday's jackpot. Do you plan to purchase a ticket?

What would you do with the money if you won? Also, tell us if you're a first-timer, religious player, or part of an office pool and share your number-picking strategy.

Check for the winning numbers on the Powerball Web site after 8 p.m.

Powerball® is a combined large jackpot game and a cash game. Every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time, game officials draw five white balls out of a drum with 59 balls and one red ball out of a drum with 35 red balls. Draw sales cut off at least 59 minutes before the draw. Check for local cut-off time.

The current jackpot also has a cash value option of $278.3 million.

Players win by matching one of the 9 Ways to Win. The jackpot (won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball) is either an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years (30 payments) or a lump sum payment. Each ticket costs $2. If the winner chooses the annuity, the annual payment will be increased each year by the percentage set out in the Powerball game rules.

The second prize (won by matching five white balls in any order) is $1,000,000 paid in cash and any time you match the red Powerball, you win. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately 1 in 32.

Power Play® is a special feature that allows a winner to increase the original prize amount. Powerball players winning any prize other than the jackpot will win a larger cash prize. The Match 5+0 prize with Power Play option is now worth $2,000,000. Note that any set prizes or Power Play prizes, including the Match 5+0 prize, may be reduced if wins exceed the available prize fund. The Power Play option costs $1 and must be selected when you buy your Powerball ticket.

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.
