Update: SR 169 Near Black Diamond Open to Alternating Traffic

The roadway was closed earlier due to downed power lines and a broken pole.

Update, 3:30 p.m.: Flaggers are alternating traffic on SR 169 between Roberts Drive and Southeast 291st Street, WSDOT said in an email alert. 

PSE crews are still working to fix the down powerlines that blocked the roadway earlier.

Editor's Note: The following is an update from WSDOT at 11:45 a.m. Friday.

State Route 169 is closed between Roberts Drive and SE 291st Street due to downed powerlines and a broken pole. There is no estimate for reopening the roadway. Utility crews from Puget Sound Energy are on the way, but drivers should plan to avoid the area.

Southbound SR 169 traffic is being detoured to SE 288th Street, then to SE 216th Street, to SE Auburn-Black Diamond Road/Roberts Drive back to SR 169.

Northbound SR 169 traffic is being detoured to Roberts Drive/SE Auburn-Black Diamond Road to SE 216th Street, to SE 288th Street and back on to SR 169.

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.

I agree the previous version was much better and I am not adjusting well to the new version at all.Read More Its definitely not a better layout. Also have had many problems with the events calendar which may not even be fixable.
