SR 410 Expected to Open This Afternoon

Crystal Mountain reports on its website that the road is expected to reopen this afternoon.

State Route 410, which has been closed since early Thursday morning due to fallen trees and debris long the road due to the ice storm this week, is expected to reopen at 4 p.m. today, according to Crystal Mountain Resort.

However, the WSDOT site indicates it's more like 4:30 p.m. According to the WSDOT, the road is currently closed between SR 164 and the Federation Forest. Local Greenwater residents can get in for essential supplies.

There were about 200 skiers 'stuck' on the mountain overnight though not everyone appeared to have found the situation to be an ordeal. (see this TNT blog entry)

Andria Hall, of guest services at Crystal, told Patch this afternoon that there were some pilot car shuttles to escort guests back down the mountain along SR 410 today by Washington State Patrol, but no one was allowed up the mountain unless they had proof of residency or business in Greenwater or Crystal.

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
