Thousands Attend 4th of July Parade in Enumclaw

Don't forget about the fireworks tonight at 9:45 at the Expo Center.

A few thousand people packed Cole Street in Enumclaw this afternoon to watch the annual 4th of July Parade.

Some people took to the shade or brought umbrellas under the clear sunny skies with temperatures in the 70s.

The day concludes with fireworks at the Expo Center starting at 9:45 tonight.

Dignataries in the parade included: Grand Marshal Justin Grennan, a standout contestant in the TV show "The Voice," Enumclaw Mayor Liz Reynolds and Sen. Pam Roach.

Dozens of children decorated their bikes in a pre-parade event then participated in the parade itself. The city provided flags, pinwheels and other decorations.

"It's a tradition for us," said Cari Encickmap, who's been bringing her children there for at least five years. "The kids love it. They get their 15 minutes of fame. Besides, it's fun, festive and free."

Other standouts in the parade included: marching bands, horse clubs, patriotic llamas, Cub Scout troops, and a special visit from George and Martha Washington.
