Re-Kindle Your Love for Books

Amazon's Kindle app for Android is one of the best ways to get your summer reading done. It's fast, it's easy, and you can try a sample of a paid title right from your phone.

Now that I am a smart phone user, I have re-kindled my love for reading and books (literally).

Amazon's Kindle app, free from Google Play, makes it easy to download, buy, and read ebooks, straight from your device. I have downloaded many free ebooks, but I have also found that paid titles allow you to enjoy a free sample, so you can decide if you like the book or not before you buy.

To give you an example:

I just downloaded and finished a sample of a book called Tears of Requiem, Book 2 in the Sons of Dragons series by Daniel Arenson. The Kindle price is $2.99, but I wanted to try it free, so I clicked on it and then clicked Try a Sample. Wow! What an amazing story! I can't wait to read the rest of it.

These books download to your device--whether it be a smart phone like mine, a tablet, or another wireless device--and are stored in your On Device or Arhive folder in the app. Go there, open the book, and start reading!

It has truly given me a love for books like I never had before. I love cookbooks, classics, dragon books (in science fiction-fantasy category), and other interesting stories, and being able to download and sample them free from my phone is absolutely amazing! (And addicting; let me warn you right now!).

As far as paying for these books from your Kindle app, I think only credit cards are accepted. I want to buy an Amazon gift card at my local retailer, but I think on the app you are only able to pay with credit. But if I learn otherwise, I'll let you know.

Not that I have to pay for these paid titles ever, of course; we have a wonderful library here in town that carries many of the popular titles I'm looking for (or can order them for me). ;)

Yes, technology seems to make everything easy and more fun; and the Kindle app on Google Play is no exception.

So if you're in the mood for a great summer read, "there's an app for that!"

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
