The Best Places in Town to Go for Free Wi fi

This is my review of the best places in town to get free wi fi, and why.

I am a proud owner of a laptop and a smart phone, and both require wi fi to access the internet. So when I am out and about in Enumclaw and surrounding areas, I am always looking for the best signal, the easiest access, and the most relaxing place to do my work, check my email, or what have you.

These places, in no particular order, are the best places to not only get free Wi fi, but they are also great places to eat, chill out, go for coffee, or relax. (Or all of the above!)

Monticello's

I just discovered this place and used their Wi fi for the first time during my last visit. It was a good, strong signal and the relaxing atmosphere is going to be perfect for times when I go there to do article writing (or update this blog!).

In order to access Monticello's Wi fi, you have to ask for a password. But it's really easy, and once you plug it in, you're connected!

Monticello's is a cafe located near the police station at the corner of Wells St. and Myrtle Ave. Their address is 1240 Myrtle Ave. And their number and open hours are (360) 825-2805, and open from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday, and 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday. Closed Sunday.

They have delicious coffee, food, and more. They are really nice too; so go there, get some coffee, and get logged in!

Starbucks

This is a no-brainer, what with the lively atmosphere, the free Wi fi, the great people, and the food. But Starbucks is a great place to log on with free Wi fi and both locations in Enumclaw have their benefits.

First of all, you can log in to the free Wi fi at the Safeway location, enjoy some high speed internet with your coffee, then go about your shopping when you're done. So, while you're on the Internet, browse Safeway's Just for U app, or browse their weekly ad online and make your list before you shop.

The location on Garrett street is great too. The internet is fast and works well on both of my wireless devices. I've even seen people log on outside on a nice day; I haven't tried that yet myself.

Great coffee, great food, and free Wi fi; we would never expect anything less from Starbucks, now would we?

Enumclaw Library

Another no-brainer, but I have always appreciated their clear, strong signal and their relaxing atmosphere. You can sit on their comfy sofas or sit down at their giant tables and get lots of work done, without any signal interruptions. I also enjoy their study room when I have days I need complete quiet; which isn't often. But it's nice to know it's there.

It's nice too that our library is KCLS, because my devices log on automatically since I have used them at other branches in the past. It's a sweet deal!

The Salt Shaker

If you want to go grab a cup of coffee and affiliate yourself with a Christian atmosphere, the Salt Shaker Christian bookstore is the way to go. I love their coffee, their people, their prices, and the Wi fi.

Their Wi fi requires a password that you can ask for at the counter. I love to go for a cup of coffee and a quick buzz of their internet; the people who work there are so nice and I always feel welcomed.

While you're there, try their personal pizza or their coffee; so good!!!

The Salt Shaker's address is:

1456 Cole St. Enumclaw 98022

Their phone number is (360) 825-7258

Hours of operation are: 8:00-5:30 PM Monday thru Friday

9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on Saturday

Closed Sunday

The Salt Shaker also has two computers in the back that you may use for free, so ask about that when you go. Also, they have kids' classes and other fun goodies for the whole family, so check out their website: thesaltshaker.com

McDonald's

Ahh, yes; McDonald's. I think I should get reward points for as many times as I've logged on to the internet at this restuarant! It's minutes from my house, so back before I had access to my own internet, I came here often. But why wouldn't you? Good food, clean reastaurant, and great people. It's a win-win!

Les Schwab

I haven't personally used the free Wi fi here, but I think it's a great idea to log on while you're waiting for your car to be serviced. It's a great way to get things done and keep boredom at bay during the process. Great idea, guys!

**These are the places I've gone to get free Wi fi, so if there are others please feel free to let me know!

Happy surfing!

Don't forget the just-opened Mountain Aire Mercantile downtown across from the Chamber! Open 7 days a week w/ a coffeeshop and cafe. Hosts plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, music, games and even a kid's play area. Always free wi-fi!

So, I don’t read the patch that much, but I do like looking to see what is going on in my favorite little town of Enumclaw as I’m heading up to Mt. Rainer with my family. Being a Seattle girl I so enjoy heading to the Mt. and love stopping by one of the small gems at the base of the Mt. So, I’m reading about great coffee places, great places for free WIFI and to my shock that nothing was mentioned about The Sequel right there on Railroad St. What is exciting about the store is everything! Even though I have an e-reader (not going to mention the name), I love the feel of books, and my e-reader doesn’t get excited about books like the owners of the Sequel do. So, don’t let a treasure like your bookstore, that serves great Italian Roasted coffee, offers free WIFI and gives you some great conversations, makes you laugh, but most of all, makes you feel like family go unmentioned! Every place you mentioned are great, but there is nothing like a real Bookstore, and you have one of the last remaining gems!
