Enumclaw Library Open House

To welcome Enumclaw residents into the King County Library System, an open house will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2-4pm at the Enumclaw Library, located at 1700 1st Street.

Join us for music, refreshments and other festivities while touring the library.

The open house will commence with a family program by children’s singer and songwriter Nancy Stewart. After a brief welcoming program with library staff and local dignitaries, the audience will enjoy a performance by the Gateway Concert Band. One of KCLS’ outreach vehicles, Library2Go!, will also be on-site for the event.

Improvements to the library have been underway since June 2012, when the library annexed to the King County Library System. The library reopens on November 28 with interior enhancements including new furniture, carpet, paint, new computers, Self Check-out Stations and a cyber computer bar for laptop users. Access to KCLS’ catalog, which connects patrons to library materials throughout the System, offers a collection of more than 4.5 million items, including books, music, movies and more. Programs also have been expanded: a children’s Story Time series launched in September and Study Zones, a free tutoring service for students, started last month. Open hours have been expanded from 36 to 63 hours weekly.
