We went on the first walk on Sunday and met other folks interested in Enumclaw's history, among them Linda Bishop, who "LOVES Enumclaw and can't get enough of it." She lived here as a child and now tries to come several times a week. She pointed out houses where she and her young friends had lived--she also lived for a while at Ellenson (Weyerhaeuser mill housing). Her parents were involved in the Glacier Gliders (square/folk dance group) and she has old photos of them to share. She's also another person (of several we've met recently) related to Sheriff Tom Smith. (You'll see more about all this on Patch as John's postings move to more "recent" history.) Thanks, Linda, for your enthusiasm for Enumclaw--our town and yours--and for sharing your history with us all. (Linda and her home are pictured above).
