Spectrum Creative Alliance- First Meeting

Hello- I hope the holidays found you well this year!

Thank you for your interest in Spectrum creative Alliance! Below is a letter about our vision, goals and how we plan to carry them out. You are invited to discuss this and any thoughts and inspirations you may have on Wednesday, January 22nd at the Enumclaw Library from 6:30-7:30. Until then, if you wish to contact me, feel free to email or call- I am here to listen!

Spectrum Creative Alliance is forming as the result of feedback

from many artists, groups and individuals who want to support the arts, and

want a tangible return on their investment.

We have a common challenge: artists need a place to help them develop,

promote and exhibit their projects, and a resource to empower them to lead

sustainable creative lives. Supporters of the arts would like to see events and

visual displays by local artists that their support has helped create.

Naturally, funding will be critical to our success. I

have ideas for grants and also for fundraising events. We have businesses and

individuals who are ready to offer financial support as well. Over the last 10 months

I personally raised over $35,000 for specific arts projects in Enumclaw. I am

excited to see what can be accomplished with a group of members working on

grants together.

Funds will be used to hold exhibits and events in

Enumclaw and the surrounding cities. Each exhibit will be held as a 'pop up' event.

This is where a space is rented for the duration of the exhibit. During the

event, there will be opportunities for the sale of art, donations, and

soliciting new members and supporters.

My vision is that we continue this model, with a goal to

raise enough money to purchase a building in which we can offer even more

opportunities for artists to work, exhibit, hold classes and offer free meeting

space for other arts groups.

My ideas for events and

partnerships are as diverse as our many talented artists and supporters on the

plateau.

Combining

artists with different skills and mediums will create a well-rounded and

interesting exhibit. An example of this could be that a painter displays a

collection of work, a poet exhibits work based on a similar genre, while

patrons enjoy a dramatic interpretation by a performing arts group or a

performance by local musicians.

We need members to accomplish this! Members may be

artists, supporters of the arts, or businesses wanting to support our

community. Members have the privilege of being a stakeholder in our

organization, help make choices about projects and vision, and also have

members-only access to all of our events. We will discuss this further during

the meeting on Wednesday, Jan 22nd at the Enumclaw Library

(6:30-7:30pm).

We cannot do this alone! Spectrum Creative Alliance needs

you! Members are the driving force which will make this organization a success.

You, as a member will have many

opportunities to contribute, benefit, and feel good about creating a vibrant

and empowered creative community within our neighborhoods!

Our goal is to work FOR the artists in developing a

common brand and forum for creativity in our community, uniting the many branches

on this creative tree. Please join us in this movement to enrich the standard

of living on the plateau and develop sustainable careers in art.

Please come to our first meeting! Wednesday,

January 22nd 6:30-7:30pm at the Enumclaw Library.

Thank

you for your time and commitment,

Samantha Rheinford
